Back from Vacation

I am back from a weeks vacation. Why does time seem to go quicker when you are on vacation? It was nice to come back but I did enjoy the time away. Its amazing what you can get done when you don't have to do anything else! I finished blocking a scarf that was rolling terrible. I also finished up a prayer shawl for a friend. Now I can get to the other projects that are stack up in my room. Then I can buy more yarn. 8)
While I was on vacation I also got my hair cut. Today I was told that the hair cut made me look younger. Which for a women moving close to 30 makes me wonder "how old do I look!??"

Hidden sin = yarn stash?

At the convent we have a great system. We get different priests from the area to come and celebrate the Eucharist. So we get a lot of different traditions. The priest of the day was one who adds prayers here and there. Well he was praying as he was washing his hands and I had basically tune out what was going on until I heard...."save me from my hidden sins." All of a sudden my mind flashed to the 4 pats of white buffalo yarn and the bag of grass green baby cotton that were stuffed in the back of my closet.
Yarn stash is it a hidden sin? I hope not or I'm in trouble!

Cheep Alpaca!

I have been reading the book Mindful knitting by Tara Jon Manning. It is a wonderful book and I have found great insights in to the spiritual side of knitting. So I decided to do one of the projects. The intention focus garter stitch scarf but I kicked it up a notch by the yarn I used. I bought baby alpaca sport. You can tell for the name of the blog that I am a nun. So buying alpaca is usually not in my price range. But I decided that I need a treat and it was on sale. It was a wonderful experience!( well sort of.) It was like knitting with butter. I knit the scarf in an evening but as the evening worn on I realized that my neck was very itchy and I had red spots on my neck too. Gasp! am I allergic to alpaca? No this can not be! A knitter allergic to alpaca. No! Then a idea came to me. It was on sale, making it cheep alpaca. That must be the problem I am allergic to cheep alpaca. Right?

Yup I finally did it!

After many months of reading other peoples blogs I finally decided to jump in! So here we go. Another knitting blog. Yes but it all mine and I get to post my pictures and chat about my highs and lows.
